Research in the field of Neuroscience is incomplete without understanding the neurochemical correlates. As a faculty member with interdisciplinary expertise and trained as a Neurochemist, I was always eager to initiate a lab that could address various neuroscience questions from a molecular lens. By uncovering how these molecules influence neural signaling, plasticity, and energy metabolism, neurochemistry helps explain the molecular basis of cognition, emotion, and behavior. It also provides critical insights into the pathophysiology of neurological and psychiatric disorders, enabling the development of targeted diagnostics and therapeutics. This enables bridging the gap between cellular functions and whole-brain level functions and offers a comprehensive understanding
